Fighting the COVID19 Pandemic together with communities and reaching the last mile!
December 20, 2020

The COVID19 pandemic is harming health, social and material well-being of children worldwide, with the poorest children, including homeless children hit hardest. School closures, social distancing and confinement has increased the risk of poor nutrition among children, their exposure to domestic violence, increase their anxiety and stress, and reduce access to vital family and care services.

To support and connect with the most vulnerable and marginalised children and women in these difficult times, AI Foundation (AIF) in October conducted a health camp. Women from Sultanpur and nearby localities of South Delhi participated in huge numbers in the program organized in collaboration with the SOCH Foundation.  On this occasion, local schoolgirls made people aware of COVID-19 through the play One Year of the Fear. Also, a painting competition was held and kids were awarded on the basis of their artistic talent. During the function, various Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers were honoured on this occasion for their dedicated help and support provided to people during the Corona pandemic. Senior Health care professionals and Doctors from the AI Foundation sensitised and oriented them about the preventive health measures, necessary protocols to be followed protocols, and preventive measures for COVID -19. Sanitizer kits and PPE equipment were also distributed as part of the campaign.
